India vs West Indies ,1st Test, Day 1 : Virat Kohli scores his maiden Test century on the Caribbean soil

Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli begins his tour of West Indies with a sizzling hundred against the home team on day 1 of the first Test match. This is his maiden Test century on the Carribean soil after the disastrous last tour.

Kohli also completed his 1000 runs as a Test Captain and 3000 Test runs overall in this match.

Kohli has now joined Kapil Dev and Rahul Dravid who are the only Indian captains to hit a century against West Indies in West Indies in Tests.

Virat Kohli also equalled the record of most overseas hundred (5) by an Indian captain made by former right-handed batsman Mohammad Azharuddin.

He remained not out on 143 runs off 197 balls with 16 boundaries at the end of 1st day’s play.
