On February 1990, Bert Vance went for more than twice the number of runs which you first thought of.
The incident took place on the final day of Wellington’s Shell Trophy match between Canterbury and Wellington in Christchurch. Vance conceded 77 runs in his one single over.

And since then Vance’s over is consigned to being a footnote in the record books.
