TV Umpire or Third umpire was first introduced in Test cricket in 1992 at Kingsmead in Durban for South Africa vs India series. On 14th November 1992, Sachin Tendulkar was the first batsman to be given out (run out) by using television replays on the second day of the Test scoring 11.
First Batsman to be given out using DRS : Virender Sehwag
The Umpire Decision Review System (UDRS or DRS) was first introduced in Test cricket series between India and Sri Lanka in 2008. Virender Sehwag was the first batsman to be given out lbw on review, and it was a contentious decision.
