Inspired by PV Sindhu, Ravichandran Ashwin hopes his daughter plays badminton in future

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has posted a video message addressing ace Indian badminton star PV Sindhu who won the silver medal in the women’s badminton singles category at Rio Olympics 2016.

In his message, the 29-year-old spoke about how inspiring Sindhu has turned out to be, even going on to say that hope one day his daughter could become a badminton player like Sindhu in the Olympics.


Ashwin’s video message was posted on BCCI’s official Twitter handle. In his message, he said : “I had the pleasure of watching the game. You competed so hard. There was a whisker of a chance, but nevertheless, you got the entire country glued onto their television sets. You have been a great ambassador for the sport in our country and I hope the sport takes off from here and one day my daughter might play Badminton in the Olympics. I am inspired by you.”
