Records created after the 3rd Test Match by Team India (West Indies vs India Test Series 2016)

On the final day of the 3rd Test against West Indies, Team India takes up 2-0 lead in the 4 match series as they defeat the home team by 237 runs in the penultimate Test match played at St. Lucia.

Records created after the 3rd Test Match of the series :


a) This is the first time that Team India has won more than one Test in an away series against West Indies.

b) Before this series, Ajit Wadekar (1971), Rahul Dravid (2006), MS Dhoni (2011) have won the series in West Indies by a margin of 1-0, therefore, Virat Kohli is the only Indian captain to win 2 Test matches in West Indies with still a match to be played.

c) India’s victory margin of 237 runs in the third Test is their 3rd biggest outside Asia in terms of runs and their second biggest against West Indies considering both home and away matches.
