Glenn Maxwell’s blistering ton fires Australia to World Record total in 1st T20I against Sri lanka

Glenn Maxwell‘s blistering century in Australia’s World record total of 263 powered the visitors to a comprehensive 85-run win over the home team Sri Lanka, in the first T20I played at Pallekele.

The Australian all-rounder scored an unbeaten 145 off 65 balls, which was laced with 14 fours and 9 sixes, becoming the second highest individual scorer in T20I after his teammate Aaron Finch.

Besides this, the Aussies have also equalled Royal Challengers Bangalore’s record against Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013.

In reply, Sri Lanka could manage 178/9 in 20 overs as they lost by 85 runs. Australia are now 1-0 ahead in the two-match series.
