Sandeep Patil has clarified that Indian skipper Mahender Singh Dhoni had no role to play in dropping his teammates Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh from the team.
In a recent interview, the former selector of Team India finally revealed the truth that Dhoni had no role to play in dropping Gambhir and Yuvraj and he also never opposed their selection. He also told that it was completely selectors’ call not to pick them.
“I feel disappointed when I read reports about Dhoni’s relation with Gambhir and Yuvraj. Dhoni never opposed their selection,” said Patil.
“It was completely the selectors’ decision to drop them and Dhoni did not have any say in dropping Gambhir and Yuvraj. Both the captains never opposed any player.”
Many Indian cricket fans do believe that it was MS Dhoni who dropped Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 squad.
Even Yuvi’s father Yograj Singh blamed the Indian captain for not picking his son.
Yograj gave many insulting remarks towards Dhoni and even called him a ‘selfish’ man who would be punished for his wrongs, after which Yuvraj himself had to come up in support for his friend Dhoni.
