Ever since the fight between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli during an IPL 2013, most of the fans certainly believe that there is an ego clash between the duo.
However, the two players have always maintained that there isn’t any problem between them.
What happened during the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in 2013 stunned everyone. Kohli’s words after losing his wicket and returning back to the pavilion were not liked by Gambhir and so an ugly spat between the two took place.
Though after the match, both turned down the incident by saying that it all happened in the heat of the moment and there is no bitterness.
It was only the media reports which made fans to make speculations that there is something wrong between the Delhi players.
Speaking to the Times of India Gambhir’s close friend has made the clarification regarding the incident.
“It’s the sheer desire to win at all costs that brought out the conflict between Virat and Gautam. In fact, both he and Virat dined in his Taj Gardenia hotel room the day they fought in Bangalore in 2013, but sadly, these things never get reported.
“Both admire each other and Gambhir calls Virat ‘Cheeks’, while Virat addresses him as ‘Bhaiya’. Both love Man United (Manchester United) and PlayStations, and are even currently together in the gym in Indore with Team India trainer Shanker Basu,” the close friend said.
