This is what mother’s of Indian cricketers have to say on the ‘Nayi Soch’ initiative

In the fifth and final ODI against New Zealand played at Visakhapatnam, Indian players won billion heats as they wore the jersey with their mother’s name on it.

The inspirational initiative, Nayi Soch is a new campaign started by Star India in collaboration with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to highlight the importance of mothers in our lives.

During the toss when Indian skipper MS Dhoni was asked about the reason behind this noble gesture, he said that every mother plays an important role in her child’s life and it was a tribute for all them.

As expected, the mothers’ of Indian players have shown their happiness with their sons’ efforts.

As quoted in the Deccan Chronicle, Dhoni’s mother, Devaki said: “Achcha lagta hai.”

Daljit Bumrah, the mother of Jasprit Bumrah said that she became emotional after watching her son sporting her name on the Indian brand new jersey.

“It was a very emotional moment when I saw my name on my son’s jersey. He has made me famous worldwide,” she said.

“It was a proud moment for all mothers and we thank God for that. For me Diwali came a day earlier when I saw this and had tears of gratitude and happiness in my eyes.”

“Although I appreciate this acknowledgement, they (the players) should have their own names too as they all have worked so hard to reach this position,” she added.

Jayant Yadav, who made his debut in that match, made the day even more emotional after apologising to his second mother for not sporting her name on his jersey.

He wanted to inscribe the name of his biological mother (Lakshmi) as well as his second mother but due to some mix up it did not happen and he wore the jersey with only his biological mother’s name on it.

However, his second mother, Jyoti is not disappointed with it and she said, “It is fine. I have absolutely no problems with it.”

As per the reports, Yadav’s sister requested that the player should change the name from the next game if the practice continues.

Meanwhile, Akshar Patel‘s parents could not watch the match as they were on trip to Kerela but they expressed their delight over the gesture.
Akshar’s mother said, “We only heard about it and we are on cloud nine.”

Amit Mishra‘s mother, Chandrakali also missed the ODI match as she was admitted in a hospital due to health issues but Mishra’s sister said that they had conveyed the message to her.

She said, “We have informed her about Amit’s performance and the jersey. On hearing this she was very happy.”
