IPL 2017: Mohammad Kaif appointed Gujarat Lions assistant coach

Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif has been appointed the assistant coach of the Gujarat Lions for the 10th edition of the cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Gujarat Lions shared this news with fans through their Twitter handle and wrote,
“News: @MohammadKaif has been appointed as the new assistant coach of @TheGujaratLions. Let’s welcome him with a huge ROAR! #GameMaariChhe”

Kaif was previously a part of teams like Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Captained by Suresh Raina, Gujarat Lions have players like Brendon McCullum, Aaron Finch, Dwayne Bravo and Ravinder Jadeja to name a few. Lions finished at the top of the table in the 2016 edition, having won 9 of their 14 matches and ended the group stage with 18 points.
