8.) Awards
She received the Arjuna Award in 2003 and the Padma Shri in 2015. In 2015,
she also became the first female cricketer to win the Wisden India Cricketer of the Year.
9.) Nickname
Mithali is nicknamed as the “Tendulkar of Indian women’s cricket”, as she is currently the all-time leading run-scorer for India in all formats, including Tests, ODI’s and T20I’s.
10.) Interests
Apart from dancing, she is an avid reader. Before walking out to bat against England in the first match of ICC Cricket Women’s World Cup 2017, she read a book by Jalaluddin Rumi on life essentials.
