5.) 107* off 114 balls against Sri Lanka in Kolkata
First hundred is always special for a cricketer and same goes for Virat Kohli; he was struggling to make his mark in the team till this came, 107 not out in his favorite forte ‘chase’.
Virat and Gambhir were chasing a total of 316 against Sri Lanka in Eden Garden. This innings by Kohli was so promising that Gambhir who scored 150 runs gifted his man of the match award to the young Delhi lad for his first ODI century. What a gesture!
6.) 235 against England at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai
After first double ton in the test against West Indies, Virat never looked back and went on scoring 4 double centuries in 4 consecutive series. This is one of those four double centuries.
Virat’s 235 runs in 340 balls took India to a total of 631 runs and England failed to climb up this run mountain. This is Virat’s highest test score so far, and the way he paced the innings in the later half for team’s sake was commendable. He single-handedly pulled the match away from England.
