Indian fans are eagerly waiting to see their favourite cricket stars showing the magic once again on the cricket field. But due to coronavirus pandemic, the cricketing action is currently disabled as the cases in India are increasing every day.

In the meantime, be it former or current cricketers, most of them have increased their presence on various social media platforms in order to interact with their admirers. In the past few days, cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal, have participated in several chat sessions to talk with their fans and followers. Now, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has also joined the exclusive club.

On Wednesday (July 01), Jaffer interacted with Anis Sajan for his chat show ‘The Cricket Talks’, he responded to quite a few queries. During the symposium, the 42-year-old gave his thoughts on the global pandemic.

Jaffer gave reference to World War-II and said that was the only time when the whole world stopped, and so many people died.

“All I would say that it is a very tough time. It probably happened in everyone’s life for the first time; the world is completely shut. This is a very unique and unfortunate situation. A lot of people have lost their dear ones. And the daily earners struggle a lot, especially in sub-continent. I feel really bad for them,” said Jaffer.

The batting stalwart in domestic cricket also gave a message to currently active cricketers. He said that they should keep working on their fitness as at some point of time the normalcy will surely resume.

“The message that I want to give to cricketers is stay strong and maintain your fitness because at some point the cricket will resume as nothing lasts forever. So keep working in your game,” he added.

During the chat, Jaffer was even asked to pick the best white-ball cricketer in India. He was given three choices in the form of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma. Jaffer without giving any second thoughts picked Kohli.

The Indian captain is currently the leading run-scorers in the active players’ category in both ODI and T20 format.
