After whitewashing the West Indies in the three-match ODI series, the Rohit Sharma-led India will lock horns with Kieron Pollard’s men in the three-T20I leg, starting Wednesday, February 16.

India last played a T20I series against New Zealand in November last year and defeated them by a comprehensive margin of 3-0.

On the other hand, West Indies delivered a below-par performance in the recently-concluded ODI series as they lost all three games. However, the Men in Maroon will hope to start the T20I leg on a fresh note. They were splendid in their last T20I series as they defeated England by 3-2.

Head-to-Head record

Played: 17 | IND won: 10 | WI won: 06 | No result: 01

Pitch report:

The pitch in Kolkata has always been a batting paradise as the ball comes nicely onto the bat. Fast bowlers are also likely to receive ample help from the surface in powerplay overs.

Due to the dew factor, both captains can be expected to field first in case the coin falls in their favour.

Probable XI

India: Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav/Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal.

West Indies: Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Rovman Powell, Kieron Pollard (c), Jason Holder, Fabian Allen, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Akeal Hosein, Sheldon Cottrell/Dominic Drakes.
