Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by three wickets in a last-over thriller at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Sunday.

Chasing 170, Gujarat started badly, losing five wickets for just 87 runs in 12.4 overs. Before CSK could capitalise further, David Miller and Rashid Khan partnered to send shockwaves to the entire CSK camp with the late blitz.

The pair of Miller and Rashid destroyed CSK bowlers in the latter stage, forming a brilliant partnership of 70 runs for the sixth wicket to turn the game into a last-over thriller. Rashid got out for a well-made 21-ball 40 before taking down the equation to 13 needed off six balls with Miller at the crease.

The South African star held his nerves and took Gujarat home with a stunning unbeaten knock of 94 runs off 51 deliveries, including 8 fours and 6 sixes.

Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ambati Rayudu shined with the willow to help CSK reach a competitive total. The young CSK opener roared back into form, hitting a sensational half-century. Gaikwad scored 73 off 48 deliveries with the help of 10 boundaries, including five big sixes.

Similarly, Rayudu chipped in with a valuable 46 from 31 balls, including 4 fours and a couple of maximums, as the Super Kings posted 169/5 in their allotted 20 overs. For Gujarat, Alzarri Joseph picked up two wickets for 34 in his quota of 4 overs.
