The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will commence in less than a month, and this year’s edition will be particularly momentous for both fans and players. After four years, the cash-rich league will revert to its original home and away format, following the last three editions that were played in specific venues due to the COVID-19 pandemic and logistical constraints.

Amid the festival of Holi in India, members of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team, who are currently preparing for IPL 2023, enjoyed with colours. In a video shared by the official Twitter account of the four-time champions, CSK players were seen enjoying the festivities, but the highlight of the clip was when the team’s captain and star player, MS Dhoni, made a brief appearance. The 41-year-old wicketkeeper-batter, who will lead the Chennai-based franchise for the last time this year, was observed expertly evading his teammates and avoiding getting covered in colour.

Here is the video:

Last season was a disappointing one for CSK as they were eliminated from the tournament early and failed to make it to the playoffs for the second time in IPL history. Newly-appointed skipper, Ravindra Jadeja, face a tough time leading his troops and, therefore, Dhoni was reinstated as captain in the second half of the IPL 2022.

This year, the Super Kings will have the opportunity to play their home matches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, which is commonly known as the Chepauk. They will face Gujarat Titans (GT) in the opening match of the season on March 31 in Ahmedabad.
