Rajasthan Royals (RR) are hosting Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 26th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday.

The home team won the toss and opted to field first, and the bowlers acted accordingly, exhibiting top-class performance and keeping LSG batters running for their money. Rajasthan’s Pacer Trent Boult displayed exceptional skills with the new ball, conceding no free runs during the powerplay. Additionally, Sandeep Sharma effectively controlled the scoring rate as well.

Both the LSG openers struggled to get going, and captain KL Rahul was dropped twice inside five overs. They did get a couple of big overs, scoring 13 and 18 off the eighth and ninth over, respectively. But RR pulled it back again.

Jason Holder dismissed Rahul in the 11th over, followed by Boult, who got rid of Ayush Badoni in the subsequent over. One over later, Ravichandran Ashwin joined the party and provided the double blows to LSG, removing Deepak Hooda and Kyle Mayers in the space of 4 deliveries.

Ashwin’s dismissal of Mayers caught the maximum attention as the ace spinner came up with a sensational delivery to send back the Caribbean star, who scored 51 off 42, including 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Ashwin came round the wicket and bowled a 95.1kph quicker delivery. Mayers moved back in his crease to force it through the off-side and played down the wrong line. The ball skidded off the deck, beat the outside edge and made a mess off the stumps.
