The 50th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 took place between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Arun Jaitley Stadium where the hosts managed to register a 7-wicket win.Amongst several moments in the game the one which captured the attention of everyone was the heated argument between RCB pace bowler Mohammed Siraj and DC batter Phil Salt.

The eye-catching incident took place during DC’s chase. Siraj had already given up two sixes and a four in the fifth over, and subsequently bowled a wide delivery to David Warner. This led to a verbal altercation between the on-field batters and the pacer.

Although the argument appeared intense at the time, Siraj and Salt resolved the issue after the game ended. Following Delhi’s triumph over RCB, customary handshakes took place between the players and staff members. It was during this time that Siraj and Salt hugged, with the pacer congratulating the DC batter on his remarkable innings of 87 runs.

In the press conference after the match, the England opener Salt spoke candidly about his verbal altercation with Siraj. Salt acknowledged that such moments can occur during close games and that he was prepared for it at any time.

“I am very satisfied with the knock. Obviously, there was a little bit of a needle. Their boys were up for the last game when we were in Bangalore. So a lot of the pre-match chat was about really taking it to them, which I felt that we did really well. There were a few words and a bit of needle, but most blokes were up for it, certainly myself,” Salt told reporters.
