Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have qualified for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 playoffs with a dominating win over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 67 at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday

The Super Kings showcased their batting prowess and all-round performance to bag a memorable win. Batting first, CSK unleashed a powerful batting display led by opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. The right-handed batter smashed a brilliant 79 runs from just 50 deliveries, including 3 fours and an impressive 7 sixes.

Ruturaj’s batting partner Devon Conway was the highest run scorer of the game as the New Zealander contributed with a blazing knock of 87 runs off 52 balls, comprising 11 fours and 3 sixes as CSK posted a formidable total of 223/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

In response, the Capitals got off to a poor start, losing opener Prithvi Shaw early for just 5 runs. However, skipper David Warner played a superb innings, single-handedly keeping the hopes alive for DC.

Warner scored a magnificent 86 runs off 58 deliveries, which included 7 fours and 5 sixes. Unfortunately, none of the other DC batters could provide substantial support as wickets fell at regular intervals and DC could only manage to score 146/9 in their 20 overs, losing the contest by 77 runs.

Deepak Chahar was the pick of the bowler for CSK, claiming an impressive 3 wickets while conceding only 22 runs. Sri Lankan duo of Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana also contributed well with 2 wickets each.
