In an exhilarating encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced a 6-wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium and were eliminated from the tournament. RCB’s loss helped Mumbai Indians (MI) clinch the remaining fourth spot in the playoffs.

Put in to bat first, the Challengers set a formidable target of 198 runs for Gujarat in their allotted 20 overs. Led by a blazing century from Virat Kohli, who scored 101 runs off 61 deliveries, including 13 fours and 1 six, RCB put up a strong batting performance. Captain Faf du Plessis contributed 28 runs, while Michael Bracewell added a quickfire 26 runs to propel their team’s total. Anuj Rawat also made a valuable contribution of 23 runs.

Chasing 198, the Titans showed remarkable resilience and composure to reach the target with 5 balls to spare and 6 wickets in hand. Opener Shubman Gill was the star of their innings, smashing a stunning 104 runs off just 52 deliveries, including 5 fours and 8 sixes. Vijay Shankar played a crucial knock, scoring 53 runs off 35 balls.
