A clinical bowling display from Georgia Wareham and Linsey Smith saw Birmingham Phoenix bundled out for 54 while chasing 116 against Northern Superchargers in Match 19 of The Hundred Women’s 2024. Wareham and Smith proved too good for the Phoenix as they picked up three wickets apiece for the Superchargers. Their impressive performance ensured that the Phoenix never got close to the target, leading to a comprehensive victory for the Superchargers.

Spectacular catch by Linsey Smith

In a highlight of the match, Smith took a stunning catch to dismiss Katie Levick, showcasing her agility and fielding prowess. The dismissal came off the last delivery of Phoenix’s run chase. Wareham bowled a flighted delivery, and Levick failed to get underneath the ball, playing it towards mid-wicket. Smith, displaying remarkable reflexes, kept her eyes on the ball and dove backward to complete the excellent grab in a fraction of a second. This spectacular catch not only wrapped up the Phoenix’s innings but also underlined the Superchargers’ dominance in the field.
