Lauren Filer removes Meg Lanning with a peach of a delivery

While London Spirit managed to successfully chase down the given target, their start was hampered as they lost two wickets in quick successions. Aussie star Meg Lanning was the first batter to go back to the pavilion after she was cleaned up with a sensational delivery from Lauren Filer.

On the 14th ball of London Spirit chase, Filer bowled a fullish delivery to shatter the stumps of Lanning. The Aussie batter failed to read the ball completely as her foot moved nowhere and the ball breached her defense as the off stump went for a walk.

Charlie Dean shines with the ball

Speaking about the game, Manchester Originals won the toss and elected to bat first, but struggled to build momentum against a disciplined bowling attack. Kathryn Bryce was the top scorer for the Originals, contributing 32 off 27 balls, while the rest of the batting lineup found it difficult to score freely. London Spirit’s Charlie Dean was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets for just 20 runs, restricting the Originals to a modest total of 112/7 from their 100 balls.

Georgia Redmayne takes London Spirit home

In response, London Spirit Women chased down the target with ease, reaching 115/2 in just 92 balls. Georgia Redmayne led the charge with a well-constructed innings of 66 off 59 deliveries, anchoring the chase and setting the foundation for the victory. She received strong support from Heather Knight, who finished unbeaten on 29 off 27 balls, guiding her team to a comfortable win. The victory was a comprehensive display of London Spirit’s batting strength, as they cruised past the target with 8 wickets in hand, further solidifying their position in the tournament.
