Suryakumar Yadav: Journey of Indian ‘Mr 360’

Suryakumar Ashok Yadav was born on 14 September 1990 in Mumbai.

Surya learnt cricket during his childhood while playing on the streets of Chembur. At the age of 10, his father enrolled him in a cricket camp in BARC colony in Anushakti Nagar.

Later, Surya joined Elf Vengsarkar Academy of former international cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar and played the age group cricket.

He completed his studies from the Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science.

Surya has captained Mumbai in domestic cricket tournaments on many occasions.

In 2012, he was roped in by Mumbai Indians franchise in the Indian Premier League.

After getting dropped from MI, Kolkata Knight Riders acquired his services in the 2014 IPL auctions and appointed him as their vice-captain.

On 7 July 2016, Surya got married to Devisha Shetty, who's a trained dancer and a dance coach.

MI bought Surya back in 2018 for a price of Rs. 3.2 crore.

He made his T20I debut for India on 14 March 2021 against England.

The right-handed batter soon became the fastest batter to reach 1000 runs in T20Is, reaching the mark in 573 balls.

Surya also has three tons to his name in T20 International.

The ODI debut for Surya came on 18 July 2021 against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, he got his maiden Test cap against Australia at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur.

Recently, Surya slammed his maiden IPL ton in the 16th edition of the league. He scored a match-winning 103 off 49 deliveries.
