15 interesting facts about India’s young speedster Prasidh Krishna
Muralikrishna Prasidh Krishna was born on 19 February 1996.
Prasidh Krishna was initially more interested in Volleyball.
His interest later shifted to cricket, which led him to join Basavanagudi Cricket Academy at the age of 12.
Prasidh’s mother was a state-level volleyball player, while his father represented the college as a fast bowler.
The speedster followed the footsteps of his father and soon made a name for himself in Bangalore’s Carmel School.
Prasidh’s exceptional talent led him to represent Karnataka at the Under 14s. The pacer was then included in the state’s U-19 team in 2013.
Prasidh made his first-class debut for Karnataka against Bangladesh A and stunned everyone with a five-wicket haul against the touring side.
He made his List A debut for Karnataka in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Prasidh was the leading wicket-taker for Karnataka in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In April 2018, he was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders team as an injury replacement.
The Karnataka cricketer received his maiden India cap in an ODI match against England on 23rd March 2021. He took four wickets in the game.
In 2022, Prasidh was roped in by Rajasthan Royal for a whopping amount of INR 10 cr.
He missed the 2023 edition of the IPL due to a stress fracture and underwent successful surgery.
Pasidh made his international T20I debut against Ireland in August 2023.
Prasidh was recently included in India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2023.
