5 ODI World Cup winners who later became head coach of Team India

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team.

Gambhir succeeded Rahul Dravid as coach under whom India ended their long 11-year ICC trophy drought.

By becoming India's head coach, Gambhir joined an elite list of former World Cup winners.

Gambhir became the fifth player to assume the role of head coach after winning the ODI World Cup.
