From Ticket Collector to Trophy Collector: A glance at MS Dhoni's illustrious career

India's most successful captain in cricketing history, MS Dhoni, initially started his career as a ticket collector.

However, Dhoni didn't give up on his dream of representing his country and kept practising despite his busy work schedule.

He was soon paid for his hard work and got the much-deserved call-up from the national side in 2004.

What Dhoni achieved representing and captaining India after his debut is now history and not less than a fairytale for Indian cricket.

The journey of Dhoni from a Ticket Collector to a Trophy collector began in 2007 when BCCI trusted him with captaincy in the inaugural T20 World Cup.

Captain Cool didn't disappoint and made India the world champions in his very first big tournament as Indian skipper.

Dhoni's brilliant decisions during the tournament's crunch moments played a major role in India lifting their second ICC trophy.

Dhoni also ended India's 28-year ODI World Cup drought by winning the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and becoming the most successful Indian captain.

The Jharkhand-born's successful journey didn't stop here, as he was destined for greatness.

In 2013, Dhoni and Co. clinched the ICC Champions Trophy, making Dhoni the only leader in the world to win all three major ICC titles.

India also won two Asia Cups and as many test maces under Dhoni's captaincy.

Between his international achievements, Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings franchise in IPL to five championship triumphs as well.

Apart from this, Dhoni has even received prestigious Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan for his contribution to Indian cricket.
