Happy Birthday James Anderson: The awe-inspiring journey of England's 'Golden Boy'

James Anderson was born on 30 July 1982 in Burnley, Lancashire.

Anderson was interested in cricket from childhood and started playing for the Burnley cricket club at a young age.

He made his List A one-day match debut for the Lancashire Cricket Board against Suffolk in the 2000 NatWest Trophy.

Two years later, Anderson made his first appearance in first-class cricket and took his maiden wicket in May 2002.

He was awarded with the NBC Denis Compton Award for Lancashire's most promising young County player in the 2002 season.

Anderson became the youngest player to take a hat-trick for Lancashire in 2003.

The English seamer made his ODI debut on 15 December 2002 against Australia in Melbourne.

Anderson became the first English bowler to take a hat-trick in ODI cricket. He achieved the feat against Pakistan.

The right-arm pacer got Sachin Tendulkar out nine times in his career, which is the most by any bowler.

His first Test cricket appearance for England came against Zimbabwe at Lord's in 2003, where he took five wickets in an innings on debut.

Anderson's T20I debut came on 9 January 2007 against Australia.

He married a model Daniella Lloyd in 2006. The couple has two children.

He is the highest wicket-taker among fast bowlers in Tests, with 617 wickets in 162 matches so far.

Anderson is among the very few bowlers to take 1000 first-class wickets.

Anderson was involved in the highest 10th-wicket partnership in Tests. He fabricated 198 run stand with Stuart Broad against India in 2014.

Anderson became the Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2015 for his services in English Cricket.
