Jay Shah’s formal entry into cricket administration began at the district level with the Central Board of Cricket Ahmedabad.

2009: Central Board of Cricket Ahmedabad

He advanced to state-level administration with the Gujarat Cricket Association, becoming joint secretary in 2013.
