Team India’s star batsman Rohit Sharma, who is the only player in the cricketing world to score twin double centuries in ODI’s, has revealed the secret behind his jersey number 45.
Recently, when Rohit was asked about the secret behind his jersey number, he said, “Well, it’s no secret. I still remember we were in Sri Lanka playing the under-19 World Cup and the match was being telecast on TV but we didn’t have a jersey number till then, it was blank.”
Well, before the semi-final match, players were asked to pick a number for the jersey. Rohit wished for 19 but it was not vacant. He then called his mother and she chose the number 45. And this is how he got the No. 45 imprinted on his jersey.
“When I did not get the number 19, I called my mom to suggest a number. She suggested 45. I have been playing with the same number since then,” he added.
