‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ is out in theatres and Sushant Singh Rajput‘s performance as India’s World Cup winning captain, Mahender Singh Dhoni is getting outstanding reviews.
In the movie, a lot of cricket footages have been used where Mahi’s face has been digitally replaced with Sushant’s. But when a young Yuvraj Singh first appears on the screen, we need a second glance to confirm that it was not actually Yuvraj.
Yuvi’s character is the biopic been played by Herry Tangri and their resemblance is simply uncanny.
He had to lose 15 kgs to play the role of India’s dashing all-rounder. He said in a statement: “To get into the character of Yuvraj Singh, I had to train for two months. Not only that, I had to also lose 15 kg to look like Yuvraj. Neeraj sir and the production team had hired a dietician who looked after what I ate and made sure I lost the required amount of weight.”
In the movie, he captured the cricketer’s body language and bowling style perfectly.
Since, Herry is right-handed so it took him a while to get the actions of the left-handed player correctly. Even Neeraj Pandey, the director of the movie, didn’t audition Herry because he resemble so much to Yuvi.
He was previously seen in Mikha Singh’s biopic, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’.
Yograj Singh (Yuvi’s father), who acted in that movie had told him back then that he looks like Yuvraj.
