In the first T20I of the 3 match series played between India and England at the Green Park, Kanpur, England defeated India by 7 wickets.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed captain Virat Kohli created an unwanted after Team India lost its first T20I under his captaincy.

Kohli has now become the first Indian skipper to lose the first International match in all the three formats ie. ODI, Test and T20I.
