Swashbuckling Tweeter and former opening batsman Virender Sehwag has become a rage on social media for his hilarious tweets and puns.
But recently he himself fell into the trap of trolling as he mistook a news website handle on twitter for that of an airline.
Viru noticed that a UAE-based online news portal, Emirates 24/7, had used a wrong picture in a report on Virat Kohli replacing MS Dhoni as captain of India’s limited overs team.
In the split image accompanying the report, the image that was described as Dhoni’s was that of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who portrayed the role of the World Cup-winning skipper in the biopic, ‘M.S.Dhoni – The Untold Story’.
In the process of highlighting the portal’s mistake, Sehwag himself committed a blunder. Instead of tagging the online news portal handle, he tagged the official handle of the Emirates Airline (@emirates).
And he wrote: “.@Emirates247 I am flying with you in a while , hope you don’t allow him to board instead of me.”

Meanwhile, Emirates airline responded to Sehwag and assured that they have got his back.
@virendersehwag No worries, we've got your back. We look forward to your next flight with us. @Emirates247 pic.twitter.com/lTzWQWeYFZ

“No worries, we’ve got your back. We look forward to your next flight with us,” said the airline in a tweet.
This mistake by Viru gave a chance to some of the Twitteratis to troll him.
.@virendersehwag Emirates 24/7 is a news website not the airline you think it is. The joke's on YOU, smartass. @KyaUkhaadLega @Emirates247
