Team India’s right-handed batsman Cheteshwar Pujara broke a 52-year-old Indian batting record on the first day of the one-off Test against Bangladesh in Hyderabad.
Pujara, now holds the national record of scoring most runs in a single season. The record previously belonged to Chandu Borde, who scored 1604 runs in the 1964-65 season.
When Pujara reached the score of 83, he surpassed Borde by a run and now has 1605 runs in 13 first-class matches he played this season.
