Virender Sehwag trolls MS Dhoni during the first Test between India and Australia at Pune

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is arguably the greatest captain Team India has ever had. Under his captaincy Indian team won 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ICC World Cup, Champions Trophy 2013 and many more tournaments.

He also took India to no.1 in Test rankings in 2009 and captained the team till December 2016, before stepping down on January 5, 2017.

However, the Ranchi-born cricketer was never away from controversies as he has seen some low points during the course of his career.

The lowest point in his career came when his former teammate VVS Laxman claimed that Dhoni didn’t pick up his calls when the stylish Hyderabadi batsman decided to retire. The controversy was at the centre of media propaganda during 2012 as Laxman then did not invite Dhoni to his retirement party.

Meanwhile, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag along with Indian legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar played a banter on the former skipper in the commentary box during the first Test between India and Australia at Pune.

The little master questioned Sehwag asking, “I heard that MS Dhoni is not answering calls on his phone?”

For which Viru replied: “If you are a Chennai Super Kings player, you will get an answer from him.”

MS Dhoni CSK

After these words of Viru, some of the cricket fans still believe that there is some friction between Viru and Dhoni after all these years. Earlier also, there had been sayings about Dhoni giving more chances to CSK players during his time as the skipper for India.
