Team India has retained their number 1 spot in the latest rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, with 122 rating points.
Australian lost the four-match series against India by 2-1 after which they needed their arch-rivals New Zealand to win their third Test against South Africa so that they could stay in the second position at April 1 cut-off date.
But, after the draw in the 3rd Test between New Zealand and South Africa, the Proteas got 2 rating points and replaced Australia in the second spot with 109 points.
