IPL 2017: AB de Villiers injured ahead of the upcoming season

AB de Villiers – the star batsman Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been injured ahead of the upcoming IPL.

De Villiers was due to play for the Titans in the Momentum Cup (South Africa’s domestic One Day tournament) but was ruled out due to a back injury.

Cricket analyst and a freelance T20 journalist Freddie Widle confirmed the news through a tweet.

“AB de Villiers, due to play for the Titans today in a South African one day domestic Final, is not playing due to a back injury. #IPL #RCB”, tweeted Widle.

The extent of ABD’s injury is still unknown and no decision has been taken till now regarding his participation in the IPL.

Well, this sad news has just come one day after RCB coach Daniel Vettori confirmed that De Villiers would be leading the side if Virat Kohli is not fit to play.
