IPL 2017: Glenn Maxwell named Kings XI Punjab captain

Australia’s all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been named captain of Kings XI Punjab for the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The official Twitter handle of the Kings XI Punjab made the announcement of his appointment as they wrote, “With fireworks in his batting, bowling & fielding it’s time to unleash the Captain in him. The King of our Pride this season – @Gmaxi_32!”

Overall, Maxwell has played 43 IPL matches for his tally of 918 runs with a strike rate of 161.61 and was also the orange cap holder in the IPL 2014.

Well, last year, the KXIP replaced out-of-form captain David Miller with Murali Vijay after losing five of their six games in the tournament.
