Head coach Anil Kumble is reportedly in line to be elevated as the director of the Indian cricket team.
Kumble was appointed as Team India’s head coach in June last year and now his tenure may be coming to an end, after the four-Test between India and Australia.
Meanwhile, according to national daily the New Indian Express, Kumble may be approaching the end of his tenure as India coach, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to offer him the role of team director.
Kumble has already been asked by the BCCI’s committee of administrators (CoA) to file a cumulative report on men’s national team, India A side, women’s national team and the junior teams, after the completion of the Bengaluru Test.
Now, with Kumble being tipped to take over the team director role, his former India teammate Rahul Dravid is likely to get promoted from India A coach to the head coach of the national team.
