VVS Laxman slams Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith for mocking Virat Kohli

Former Indian middle-order batsman VVS Laxman, who is currently present as a Star Sports analyst for India vs Australia Test series, has condemned the Aussies for “mocking” Virat Kohli‘s shoulder injury on day three of the third Test.

Glenn Maxwell mocked Kohli’s gesture of holding his shoulder in pain after saving a boundary in the post lunch session.

Later, Aussie skipper Steve Smith celebrated the key wicket and also gave a send off to the Indian skipper.

So, Laxman not least satisfied by such an act, was fuming towards the Aussies and was quoted saying, “Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith, what example is he setting to his team? That’s very disappointing. You can sledge … it’s fine, but not mocking someone who is injured, in pain.”

“I’ve never experienced that because when you are injured, you always care for the opposition player as well. “Especially after what happened to Phil Hughes, everyone is concerned when someone gets injured. “Whether he gets hit on the helmet or is injured, there is a concern. “You play the game a hard way but the spirit of the game should be there. This is defying the spirit of the game,” Laxman said for the official series broadcasters.
