On day 3 of the ongoing 2nd Test match between India and Australia in Bengaluru, Indian skipper Virat Kohli was given out LBW by the on-field umpire Nigel Llong during the second innings.
Kohli immediately took the DRS since he was pretty sure that his bat has nicked the ball before it crashed on to the front pad. But, it turned out to be much more complicated for Kohli, when after watching the ball from different angles even the TV umpire was unclear whether the ball thudded onto the pads before or after taking an edge from the bat.
From one angle it looked as if both the events had occurred simultaneously. Since, their was no clear evidence therefore, TV umpire asked the on-field umpire to stay with his original decision as the hawkeye projection showed that the ball would have gone on to hit the stumps.
However, Kohli, expectedly, wasn’t impressed and his body language while walking back to the dressing room cleared what he thought of this controversial decision.
