The Indian Premier League will be completing its 10 years and in its tenth year, we are going to see a unique way to celebrate the occasion. The IPL 2017 is set to witness as many as eight opening ceremonies before the action kicks-off in home cities of various teams.
The season opener between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 5, 2017 would be preceded by the ceremony. Similarly, it will happen for venues hosting their first game of the season.
Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra will be the star attraction at the opening ceremony of IPL team Delhi Daredevils on April 15 at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi.
Speaking to Cricketnext, a senior Delhi and District Cricket Association official was quoted saying, “We are proud that we will have Parineeti performing in the opening ceremony at Kotla. She hails from Ambala, as a result she will have a connect with both the Delhi and the Punjab fans. We are excited that she will put up a great show. We will also have other performances like cultural shows and relive DD’s best moments in the IPL over the last nine editions.”
