Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batsman AB de Villiers on Tuesday revealed heartbreaking news of him missing out the opening game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 5.
“Really disappointed to be missing the opening game of the IPL tomorrow, good luck to @ShaneRWatson33 and the rest of the @RCBTweets boys!,” tweeted De Villiers. In his tweet, ABD wished ‘good luck’ to the stand-in captain Shane Watson and rest of the teammates.
Now, Gujarat Lions’ opener Brendon McCullum took a dig at De Villiers and asked team RCB to let their coach Daniel Vettori to take the field.
McCullum wrote: “Dodgy back again bro? You fellas almost need to roll out the coach for game 1!?”
De Villiers looked at the funny side of things and agreed with Baz by saying that watching Vettori bowl would be great entertainment.
The Gujarat Lions batsman felt that Vettori, at the age of 38 would prove to be one of the best bowlers for the Bengaluru franchise.
