During a T20 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight in the ongoing IPL, a thick edge from SRH opener Shikhar Dhawan on the bowling off KKR pacer Trent Boult smashed a laptop belonging to SRH’s support staff.
It all happened on the first ball of the second over of the Sunrisers innings, when Dhawan received a short of length delivery from Trent Boult.
The left-hander was beaten by the extra bounce and the ball took a thick edge off his bat, went towards the boundary beating Suryakumar Yadav at first slip. The ball moved in the direction of the Hyderabad team’s dugout.
Surprised by the pace of the ball, the support staff scurried for cover, but an open laptop, probably belonging to the analyst was left stranded. The white cork smashed on the backside of his white laptop’s screen.
However, the best reaction came from VVS Laxman, mentor of SRH, who was sitting right next to the laptop. Unimpressed by Shrinivas, the analyst, running away, he gestured at the laptop, suggesting why he should have tried stopping the ball, instead of letting it thud onto the laptop.
When Shrinivas opened the lid, he saw the lifeless screen and signaled the end of the laptop. Laxman, still seething at the lack of fielding skills shown, gestured at Yuvraj Singh and Tom Moody after showing his disapproval at poor Shrinivas.
