Kolkata Knight Riders team took a gamble of sending spinner Sunil Narine as an opener while chasing a decent total of 179 against the Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
But, it really paid off for them, as the left-arm batsman played a cameo of 37 runs off just 18 deliveries and provided a boost to the team in Chris Lynn‘s absence.
Narine smashed four boundaries and three maximums during his innings. He has opened the batting for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League earlier this year, but it was new for the Indian fans in the IPL.
