Ricky Ponting picks ‘Best XI’ of IPL 2017 so far; 4 Indian players make the cut

Australian legend Ricky Ponting has picked his team of the ongoing IPL season so far.

Talking to cricket.co.au, Ponting, who captained the Mumbai Indians for one season of the IPL has included players from all over the world; four Indians, two Australians, two South Africans, an Englishman, a Kiwi and an Afghani in his best XI.

Hashim Amla and David Warner have been picked as openers followed by Suresh Raina and Jos Buttler at no. 3 and no.4 respectively.

The young sensation Nitish Rana, T20 specialist Glenn Maxwell and all-rounder Chris Morris will add strength to the middle-order.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mitchell McClenaghan has been included in the side as pace duo to start the proceedings whereas experienced Harbhajan Singh will be joined by Rashid Khan in the spin department.
