Shah Rukh Khan compares KKR players to his movie characters

Kolkata Knight Riders’ team owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made his presence at a function to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the franchise during a recent event. The function attended by the entire KKR Riders squad — took place in Kolkata.

On the special occasion, Shah Rukh Khan did not hold back from having fun as he compared his franchise players to his popular movie characters.

When asked who among the current squad was most likely to portray the character of Devdas, Shah Rukh hinted that Australian batsman Chris Lynn was the likely candidate.

“Okay, I need to find out who drinks the most amongst you guys, yaar. Chris Lynn is the Devdas,” Shah Rukh said after deliberating.

Then, he was asked to compare a player who could pull of Mohan Bhargava, SRK said, “Mohan Bhargava is a very serious guy, very honest, quiet, never ever smiles. Gautam Gambhir has to be Mohan Bhargava.”

He also attributed roles to Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan.

“Rahul from Dil Toh Pagal Hai? I find Manish Pandey very good looking. He’s the Rahul,” Shah Rukh said and later added, “Raees toh sirf Yusuf bhai ho sakhte hain (Only Yusuf Pathan can be Raees). There is no questioning it.”

Then finally came a serious one and the most recent one of his character from Dear Zindagi. SRK said, “I think Jacques Kallis would be Dr. Jahangir Khan. I have seen him (Kallis) as a player, I have seen him as a coach. He’s quiet and has control without having to say too much. Like the way he is, his behaviour makes the whole team.”
