IPL 2017: During the T20 match between Gujarat Lions and Kings XI Punjab in Mohali, Sandeep Sharma lost his cool and had a heated argument with the on-field umpire after A. Nand Kishore called a delivery bowled by KXIP pacer a no-ball.
This incident happened in the 5th over, when Sandeep decided to come around the wicket to bowl. Batsman on non-striking end was Dwayne Smith and he didn’t change his position.
Umpire called it “No Ball” because according to him, Sandeep should have informed him that he will be coming around the wicket to bowl next delivery. Well, it’s also umpire’s duty to tell batsman at the non-striker’s end to change the position.
The 23-year-old was joined by captain Glenn Maxwell and teammate Gurkeerat Mann in the argument. Sandeep and Maxwell were in particular seen having an animated chat with the umpire regarding the no-ball which gave Gujarat Lions a free hit.
