WATCH: Kieron Pollard deliberately takes short-run to retain strike

IPL 2017: During a T20 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Wankhede stadium, the MI all-rounder Kieron Pollard seemed to have deliberately run short to keep the strike.

Needing 16 runs in the final over, MI needed Pollard to take the majority of the strike as he was batting pretty well. But, on the first ball bowled by Mohit Sharma, Pollard played a straight shot down the ground and while returning for the second run, he didn’t reach the crease and the umpire called one short.

Even commentators were left into splits after watching Pollard running a short run.
