13 Interesting facts about Hardik Pandya – The emerging star

Born on October 11, 1993, Hardik Himanshu Pandya is an Indian all-rounder, who is famous for bowling the final over against Bangladesh in ICC World T20 2016.

Hardik is known for his aggression and confident nature, be it in his batting or bowling. He is considered to be Team India’s future all-rounder in limited-overs cricket and has made his name quite early in his career. He represents Baroda in domestic cricket and was coached under former Indian wicketkeeper Kiran More during his teenage days.

1.) Humble background

He was just five years old when his father closed his business of car financing, and moved to Baroda from Surat.His father got him and his brother Krunal enrolled in the Kiran More Cricket academy, at the ages of 5 and 7.

2.) Failed in 9th standard

During his school days, Hardik could not clear the exams of 9th standard and later left studies to focus only on cricket.

3). Rs 400

Till two years back, in the local tournament in villages of Gujarat, Hardik used to get paid INR 400 to play for any team. He revealed this story in an interview with ESPNCricinfo and said, “There was no name for the tournament. It was just between villages. I would play for teams like Jhambuja XI. What was the fascination? Rs 400. My brother used to get Rs 500. For a week at least, life would be normal. There was no name for the tournament.”
