The Anil Kumble–Virat Kohli fallout has set the cricket fraternity buzzing and now it is learnt that the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman, has unanimously decided to not consult the Indian skipper before appointing the new Head coach of Team India.
“They have made it clear that while choosing the next coach, they may not consult the team or captain,” a BCCI spokesperson was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
“They have made their views clear. Let’s see how to go about it,” he added.
Well, last year, CAC picked Kumble over Ravi Shastri and Tom Moody as Indian team’s head coach and the decision turned out to be a good one as Team India made progress under the former Test skipper in all three formats of the game.
However, under pressure from Virat Kohli and other Indian cricketers who had reservations with his style, Kumble resigned from his job.
